I reviewed "The Lost City of Z":
A good representation of the main problem I had with “The Lost City of Z” is the way it uses its many sequences of beautiful scenery.
In saying this, I do intend to praise the movie with faint damning. It’s a film with many technical strengths, especially in the visuals and performances. But it’s a film that invests heavily in a particularly progressive political perspective, and the investment comes up short.
